The Green Bay Packers open training camp on Wednesday, July 29, marking the unofficial start of the 2026 season for Matt LaFleur's team. After a third straight playoff appearance but another disappointing postseason failure, the Packers are hoping to finally get over the hump in 2026. The process begins in full on July 29.
Packers Wire will go position by position previewing the roster, highlighting battles to watch, the things that actually matter and young players to monitor this summer.
Here is our training camp preview of the offensive line:
A disappointing season from the Packers offensive line in 2025 brought on big changes. Rasheed Walker and Elgton Jenkins are gone, and Jordan Morgan and Sean Rhyan are now stepping into important roles at left tackle and center, respectively. The play of Morgan and Rhyan will play a giant role in the success or failure of the offensive line in 2026. The lone notable addition to the group was fifth-round pick Jager Burton, who is being cross-trained at center and guard. Anthony Belton will go into his second season as the favorite to start at right guard, where he played to end the 2025 season, but he'll have competition. On the injury front, Zach Tom and Aaron Banks are both coming off injury-plagued seasons and will need to avoid the nagging injuries that affected them last season. In many ways, the offensive line looks like the fulcrum point for the 2026 Packers. If the offensive front is good, the Packers could score a bunch of points and be a top offense. If it struggles again, the same offensive inconsistencies could arise week to week. The pieces are in place, now everyone must stay healthy and improve on the performance from 2025. -- Zach Kruse
The uncertainty around the Packers’ offensive line is arguably the worst it’s been in years. Besides Zach Tom at right tackle, no one has truly solidified themselves ahead of the 2026 season, which is unsettling after the uneven play we saw in the trenches last season. One of the biggest questions is who will start at right guard. Sean Rhyan was the initial starter last season before getting benched in favor of Jordan Morgan, but has now reinvented himself as the new starting center. 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton is the favorite at the moment after an up-and-down rookie season. However, rookie Jager Burton took first-team reps at guard during his first mandatory minicamp, a rare occurrence for a Day 3 pick in Green Bay. Expect the Packers to rotate guys in and lean on the competition aspect to determine who wins the job. -- Brandon Carwile

Aaron Banks dealt with various ailments from training camp onwards, while Zach Tom got hurt in Week 1 and Elgton Jenkins was knocked out for the year by mid season. With multiple players taking on new roles, such as Jordan Morgan at left tackle, Sean Rhyan as the true starting center and Anthony Belton likely to get a proper run as the starting right guard, it is imperative the Packers have a clean bill of health during camp to help build chemistry and continuity up front. Hopefully that includes Tom returning as quickly as everyone hopes from his season-ending knee injury and being able to participate in practice as much as possible. -- Mark Oldacres

He doesn't need to be All-Pro-level player, but he can't be Rasheed-Walker-against-the-Chicago-Bears-in-the-playoffs bad either. The Packers have waited for two years to get the former first-round pick into the starting lineup and now it's time to see what they have on their hands.
