GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers will receive one compensatory pick for this year’s NFL draft.
Compensatory picks are awarded to teams who lose more unrestricted agents than they sign the previous offseason and the rounds are determined based on a formula that takes into account the value of the contract signed, playing time and postseason honors.
The Packers will get a seventh-round pick (255th overall). Last year, they lost center Josh Myers (New York Jets), defensive tackle T.J. Slaton (Cincinnati Bengals), cornerback Erik Stokes (Las Vegas Raiders) and linebacker Eric Wilson (Minnesota Vikings), while signing guard Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.
That brings the Packers to a total of seven picks in this year’s draft in Pittsburgh.
Because the gave up two first-round draft picks in the trade for Micah Parsons, the Packers won’t pick until the second round. They have one draft pick each in rounds two through six and two picks in the seventh round.
