Is anyone going to the Men's lunch at Chandler Christian Church Saturday at 1:30? Josh and Pasch are scheduled to speak.

If so, can you get me some of the Cardinal giveaways and an autograph or two. :help:

If I'd known about it sooner we would have skipped playing golf but too late now.

All AFSN out of towners welcome at tailgate!

We're set up on the South West side of the stadium. We'll be right behind Big Rays (hot dogs, water, peanuts, etc.) which is set up in the National Guard Armory's parking lot. It's right across the street from Fumbles (bar), right off of Stadium Drive.

Look for the Sea Doo tent. We'll have the essentials: Beer (mostly import, I'm sure they'll be a few Bud Lights as well), about 12 pounds of barbeque pork (I'm smoking a 18 lb pork shoulder the night before), and lots of Crown Royal. WARNING: we'll also have a big bald headed guy who loves to blow this loud, plastic trumpet in the direction of opposing team fans and a fellow who makes his own home brew that's been known to cause temporary blindness.

Stop by, ask for Rob and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Damn, wish I could be there. Sounds like you guys will be having a blast. Someone drink a 12er for me. You guys still planning on having one big ASFN tailgate? That would be awesome to see.

Thanks for that list of rules but I am still hoping to get some clarification. The small soft-sided "koozie" cooler is less than 12 x 12 x 12 so I am wondering it it might be allowed due to its small size and the fact that its soft-sided - what really differentiates it from a purse (which is explicitly allowed)?

Also that list of rules does not say whether the water bottle limit of 44 ozs is restricted to one bottle per person or whether I can bring in two 16 oz bottles.

Logic would indicate that you should be able to take it in.... But you are dealing with Security Guards here; logic is not their strong suit! My guess it that it will be considered a cooler and will NOT be allowed.

Multiple bottles of water per person should be ok!

Thanks for the reply CL. I think you are right about the logic of ticket takers and security.

Any other tips regarding tailgating, preparing for and entering the stadium, concessions, bathrooms, etc. are appreciated by this newbie.

JDvl, I thought that might be where you went. Thanks bro wish I could go.

As for the tailgates I would recommend that folks walk around to the different 'gates and visit. It's something I do almost every time I go to Phoenix. Get to meet a lot of different people and soak up more of the color of a Cardinal home game than you will staying in one spot. It will be easy to stop by Derm's tailgate since it is near one of the Stadium entrances.

You also need to harass the fans of the other team.
With the Patriots it'll be tough but We hold the all time series lead, which has got to be emabarassing to a two time Super Bowl Champ, and of course we can harass them about the RedSox having gone longer than the Cards without a championship. It's not much but.....

I smell an upset in the makings, I think the hot weather will melt the Patriots.

Does this count as "out of towners?" There are approximatley 1,000 of us Patriot fans sitting in sections 34 and 35. We are from a lot of different states, Canada, England and Arizona, too. This group of tickets was purchased through the New England Patriots Fan Club Of Arizona. (960 tickets were sold, then a second batch added.)

Plus, there are thousands others spread in different sections throughout the stadium.

So, I guess that qualifies as "out of towners."

Yes, at the ticket office on the east side of the stadium. You'll probably be upper deck and it will be hot.

8 hour drive - where the hell in SoCal do you live - underneath the ocean? It doesn't take more than 5.5 hours to get there unless you're coming from north of LA? Sack up and get to the game.
