I pay for MLB.tv so I can watch all of my favorite teams games, but if they are playing Arizona I can’t use the service I pay for due to blackouts. Seriously flawed system that a streaming site makes it easier to watch a game than the paid service I use.

Piracy hurts the little guy the most. It's not the actors / athletes, the producers or executives...it is the the cameraman, roadie, grip, ect...

It leads to less jobs in that industry.
The easy answer to that is to pay the little guys more. There's billions in play.

We are existing customers with Verizon so we were able to get the ticket for 267.00. It’s free for new customers to Verizon as far as I can tell.

Speaking of boxes....go to the Phoenix swap meet...buy a Roku for 25 bucks...then go to YouTube and watch the instructions to jailbreak it....get everything. Direct TV, HBO, SHOW,MAX,DISNEY, PAY PER VIEW,...everything...
Or just slip the guy $50 when you buy the Roku stick and he will jailbreak it for you.

At least that's what I heard.
But you know how rumors and gossip are

I pay good money for programming. All I ask is to watch more of the channels I like.

No it doesn't. If those guys are getting squeezed, it is the industry's fault. The industry absolutely swimming in money.

It absolutely does. There are a plethora of articles about it online. You can read them at your leisure.

This is theft. It's a crime. It is not victimless. Whomever is doing it, whatever mental gymnastics you need to do to justify your illegal activities...it is no different than shoplifting.

You know what else could be considered theft? The NFL acting like racketeers and keeping prices so high that they have to explain themselves to Congress.

articles put out by the industry.
Guess I could post a couple articles online about how it actually helps the industry. You see, it increases exposure for their product and introduces new fans to their stories and characters. People who were not interested enough to go to the theater for their movie will now go to the theater for the sequel because they really enjoyed what they saw.
Then you have no argument at all. Because everything on the internet is true.

Bootlegging is literally free advertising.

In the case of the NFL it literally costs the league exactly zero. Because the options are not "Bootleg the game" versus "Pay to see the game"
The options are Bootleg it or do not see it at all......
and technically even bootlegging makes the league money...because in the neilsen ratings all those stolen streams count as independent views...and higher views are what allows the NFL to continually gouge the networks for higher and higher contracts. they are also what allow the networks to charge millions for a 15 second spot.

It was by the way... But 2018 was a long time ago - maybe he's changed his stance? Maybe his morale compass ends when other people are put in danger?

meh,...there is a difference between stealing and speeding.
one takes money away from corporate stockholders.
the other puts innocent lives at risk.
A guy just has to decide if he is more comfortable snaking some rich dude out of 1% of his yacht payment or killing 5 year olds on their way to soccer practice,
Its a personal choice

I suspect the average American commits multiple crimes a week… perhaps even in a day… without knowing it, or maybe they do and rationalize it away.

This does not make it all right, but one needs to learn about it and reflect on it.

Because they were not enforced does not mean it didn't happen. I bet companies do this as well… even the television industry.

It's hard to even drive a car to the letter of the law. When you see those red lights flashing in the mirror, doesn't everyone think for a second it could be them?

I saw a string of cars that pulled over on Highway 260 the other day when a DPS officer only stopped one car for speeding. Then the other cars were scrambling to get back on the road after they figured it out.
Naw I’m squeaky clean but super bored:)

I'm squeaky clean too.
I just have a varying opinion on what's right or wrong.

I'll bootleg a football game without a second thought. But a friend could leave a million in cash with me for a year and I would never touch a dime.
It's just a perspective thing.

Or theft is not in my moral compass.

It's really just that.
You want to talk theft? I was happy to pay for NFL+. More than happy. Then they started effing up the streams, and suddenly games would skip forward 10 or so minutes in game time. Add in there is literally no customer service there. Should I allow the NFL to steal from ME? No. Should I be stolen from and be forced to pay hundreds of dollars instead of getting what I payed for? No.

You don't know me. I don't need to steal anything but I will not be cheated nor screwed by big business. You can stick your uninformed judgment right up your sanctimony.

The level of piracy is directly equal to the difficulty required to acquire content.

Why don’t you hear much about music and video game piracy like the early 2000’s? Because it’s dead simple to buy tracks, albums, or games, and relatively cheap to do so. If you like iTunes and Spotify, thank Napster.

If the NFL wanted to stop piracy, they’d create an a la carte digital platform with someone like Amazon or YouTube where you can drop twenty bucks to watch a game. I don’t know why they haven’t; guessing most owners are boomers and don’t recognize the opportunity.

I am not judging you. I stated what my opinion was and what my moral compass is.

Anything beyond that is self reflection
