When Peterson was at his peak, he shut down half the field.

Williams had 20 interceptions in his first four years. Peterson had 15
Not to mention... Williams came to the team at a time when we had to play the cowboys twice a year and at the time they were close to being the greatest dynasty team the nfl had ever seen

The only thing Peterson has over Williams is his return game the 1st could of years in the league...other than that it's Williams hands down.

he did. Pat had mad skills...and he did it in a time when the rules strongly favored the offense. But he still aint no Aeneas Williams.

Aeneas was great and a better all around corner but PP is the better cover corner. The WR's and passing games are much more dynamic is his era. Like mentioned, teams wouldn't even challenge PP most games when he was in his prime.

I have no problems with PP. I was a big fan of his when he played for the Cardinals.

PP beef was with Steve Keim and I can totally understand that after seeing how Keim ran this team the last 4 years.

Williams could have transitioned to safety later in his career and still been awesome. He was a good tackler and not afraid of contact.

He played free safety once he went to the Rams. Made huge plays from that position to help them reach a Super Bowl (Rams lost to the Patriots).
