It sounds like Sanchez was running sprints in the back alley and the truck was in his way so since he was drunk or somehow impaired, he confronted the driver.

100% this. Also explains why he was in the most discrete location possible. He knew exactly what he was doing. Can’t just go work it out at the hotel gym, too risky to run into someone he knows.
