Possibly. But he could have rationalized that as a team loss.

Here, we’re talking about him losing his starting job to a journeyman back up player.

If that happens, there will be no rationalizing that away. There will be no laying that at the feet of his teammates.

I'm saying he’s a couple of interceptions away from getting benched for the first time in his life.

How will he respond to that kind of pressure?
Oof, that would be one of his main problems if he's rationalizing everything away as not his fault. He's the QB; he's supposed to claim all responsibility even when it isn't his fault.

I think if Kyler, fresh off a two week bye against a terrible defense looks sub par again on the national stage- that’s it, no coming back from that
For me, there's no coming back for Kyler next year. He's sealed his fate. Dropping a top game in amongst the crappy ones won't change that.

I’m with you man, but Gannon and company keep turning to him. I’m talking an official benching if Kyler lays an egg on MNF. Gannons only hope to save his job is to use Kyler as a scapegoat

For 7 years Murray has been routinely taken off running only to go out of bounds behind the LOS instead of throwing it away. Is it possible he does that because the offense knows he takes off and then they take off downfield to block. So, if he were to throw it away would it be a penalty due to illegal man down field? Because even my wife screams "throw it away, throw it away...Idiot!"

No he’s protecting his completion percentage

In addition to the above I don't know how the calculate EPA on passing attempts when 69% comp rate, +5.6% CPOE, 8.6 AY/Att and 16.7% deep throw % get's you 0.06 EPA.

But 72.4%, -3.9% CPOE, 5.3 AY/Att and 6.9% deep throws gets you 0.07 EPA. Makes no sense.

But also look at the time to throw. 3.29 seconds and 2.91 seconds despite far higher pressure rate. Those are two of the top 3 of the year. Because he stays in the pocket and let's his receivers complete their routes.

idc what gannon says or how kyler feels - that dallas defense is sorry as hell

we have the far better defense - if kyler still can't keep up with dak then **** that

you know how hard it's going to be for cards fans to watch kyler take off after watching brissett stand tall??

murray is lucky it's not a home game cuz it would be #boogang

I think you'll be singing a different tune after the Dallas game my friend.
I was responding to @GeorgiaCard88's post staying that if Murray looks bad vs. Dallas, there's "no coming back from that."

Murray stans will make the excuse that he hasn't fully recovered from his foot injury. (... Which is ironic, since his fragility and lengthy recovery time from every minor injury is actually yet another knock on him).

It really stinks how bad this upcoming QB class is looking. Mendoza is probably the best and he looks like an obvious 1st round bust

Understand daves!

And I'm saying post-DAL all of the Murray's detractors will be offering various mea culpas for doubting K1!

I'll be brutally honest at this point. If Kyler lights it up against Dallas, I will give him credit for the game but no longer get all excited about it. Been there, done that. I'll say he did well and who cares unless he does it again. And again. The only way he redeems himself for me is to completely ball out the entire rest of the season, lift the team, and lead them to the playoffs. One big game won't even move the needle. That's where he's led me.

Absolutely one game against the horrible Dallas defense means nothing….. Yet Crimson even if Kyler goes out there plays and sucks against that horrible defense will still defend him here. It’s a lesson in futility.

I see you're back to driving the K1 train. Just not enough nut kicking yet?

One game wouldn't change my mind. If It would I would have followed you after that raiders game In Las Vegas a couple years ago. I was at that game and he was magic the second half of that game and willed us to a win. Unfortunately he was crap the first half.
