I'm watching the Tar Heels get pounded right now by TCU...It's currently 41-7.

This is my hot take I've held for years but Bill is not the GOAT of coaches. I truly thought he was the best coach ever during that ridiculous run in New England...However with each passing season and year he doesn't have Tom Brady his legacy keeps getting worse. I know this is only one game into his collegiate HC career but this is a disaster.

The stats don't lie. His overall record with Brady: 219–64 (.774)

Without Tom: 47–57 (.452)

Zero playoff wins after Tom left.

Andy Reid is the G.O.A.T. coach.
Dude made the NFCC game 4 years in a row with Donovan McNabb...
McNabb couldn't even find a team that wanted him after the giggles.

Donovan was basically full size kyler Murray

Before he got Mahomes he was headed back with Smith...the penultimate captain checkdown...

Reid adjusts to the skillset of his roster better than any coach I have ever seen.
After Reid... it's John Madden. Highest win percentage ever for all qualifying coaches...and a couple Lombardi trophies.

I know it's crazy...but then you gotta start considering Bill Walsh...the inventor/initiator of the west coast offense...and he has a couple Lombardis also

Then you just gotta sneak in Tony Dungy. This ain't no DEI honorable mention. Dude is like top 5 all ti.e in win percentage...has the requisite Lombardi trophy...and single handedly invented the dreaded Tampa 2 defensive scheme that still gives quarterbacks ulcers even now.

Not just winning coaches but some of the very top football minds that not only produced but revolutionized the game.

What? You think John Madden didn't revolutionize the NFL??
Ask any kid that plays both football and video games what he plays on his Playstation...
He won't say NFL football... likely won't even say NCAA even though that's an awesome game.
No. He will say he plays Madden.
The one name that is synonymous with professional American football. Dude introduced more people and created more fans than any other outlet...even 30 years after he retired from coaching as the guy with the highest win percentage in history.

Whereas Andy Reid...he just stacked banners in both the NFC and the AFC...and stacked and stacked and stacked.....

Yup. I never thought he was the goat. Even during the NE run. It was all a product of Brady and his home town discount. They were never hamstrung with a crazy QB contract, which allowed them to build around him.

The guy won 8 Super Bowl rings!!! EIGHT!!! Name a NFL coach or player who has more because I don’t think one exists.

Football is the ultimate team sport where coaching & talent go hand in hand & don’t achieve long term greatness without the other, particularly in the NFL & CFB.

BB out schemed & out coached the Lambs in the SB & shutdown one of the greatest offenses in NFL history to win a ring.

BB was the genius in Parcells defense that won 2 rings that’s one of the top D’s in league history during an era that had great teams in the Niners, Cowpies, Skins, Bears & Pack as legit threats or champions during his Giants tenure.

Winning the Super Bowl isn’t easy & never will be, winning multiple rings isn’t achieved without a great head coach & talent. Both are needed. It’s easy to kick BB in the balls & doubt his genius when he gets destroyed in his first college game. Big mistake imo. He’s LEGENDARY imo.

It’s game one with NC and only one recruiting class. The guy is clearly a great coach. Anyone saying otherwise is just full of delusions. Just more dynasty jealousy going around clearly. Lol

Even if after a few seasons, if he’s a complete flop at North Carolina means literally nothing. He was still an incredible NFL coach. Not even debatable.

He’s 73 years old and already created his legacy. What he does at NC can’t move that needle. He was the head of a 2 decade dynasty in a league designed for parity. Tom would have won superbowls without Bill, doubt it would have been 6. They needed each other.

montana's on the farm but brady is the goat
negative ghost rider. When Joe played, defenses were allowed to lay hands on the offensive player...Tom had the advantage of playing in a time when real defense is illegal...not to mention there were not any real great teams during his tenure...and he spent his entire career on the best team, in the worst division in football...and when the afc east started getting better...he moved to the NFC south...again the worst division in football....he had division titles pretty much guaranteed nearly every season of his career because the rest of the div was so damn bad.

He's a great coach and absolutely in the argument for the best ever, and I think it's hard to make a case he isn't the greatest. As much praise is heaped on Brady (and deservedly so), people have seemingly forgotten how heavily the Patriots defense carried their first 3 titles. Even in their last title, the defense demolished the Rams.

However, this is going to be a DISASTER. What a stupid choice by him... he goes to a mid tier football team, at 70+ years old, a notorious curmudgeon, now coaching in an era where college players can bail left and right, while an NFL coach the dude seemingly lived in his office and now he spends a huge amount of time with his 20 something girlfriend.

At the longest, he's there 2 years, and I expect he will be heavily pursuing NFL jobs next spring.

Not just demolished; they completely shut them down.

Like a cat playing with an injured mouse.

Like a varsity v freshman scrimmage.

Like “SEAL Team 6” assaulting a daycare center playground after nap time.

One of the most BORING, yet incredible, Super Bowls in NFL History.

That was all coach B.

Tough transition for the old guy but he is still the best coach the NFL has seen ever.

Brady is the best QB ever as well.

BB is probably out of touch and needs to go retire on an island with his sugar baby.

Bill Has 6 as a head coach not 8
Brady has 7, all as a starting QB

interestingly enough I read an article the other day about a guy who came out in the 2022 draft I think it was...an undrrafted free agent who signed with KC...he road their bench for two years...collected super bowl rings for super bowls 57 and 58,...then KC cut him...so he signed with the Eagles...and then road their bench all the way to a super bowl ring in super bowl 59...

and the dude has never played a live snap in an NFL game....
But he has three rings in his first three years in the NFL.

Dude must be on his way to being the greatest NFL player of all time.

ah, here he is...he was a fifth round pick by KC

Three NFL seasons, three super bowl rings.
Dude is the greatest offensive tackle to ever play....he has played in three games total

Tom Brady would have likely been in the league at least 6-8 years no matter which team drafted him, even it the most horrific of circumstances (imagine if he was drafted here in the early 2000's- he'd have probably been closer to a 6 than even 8 year career in the league).

BB teams were well coached and disciplined. I don't see how that can be denied. He's a great coach.

I don't think either would be who they are without the other.
