On the game that Larry Bird, Bill Laimbeer ejected in the 1987 East Finals

It is not exactly a secret that there was no love lost between Hall of Fame Boston Celtics small forward Larry Bird and his arch-nemesis Bill Laimbeer of the Detroit Pistons in their so-called "bad boy" era. The two forwards regularly ended up (sometimes literally) at each other's throats on the court with Laimbeer's tough guy style of play and Bird's indomitable competitive spirit.

And in Game 3 of the 1987 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, the two foes ended up in an actual fight on the court under the cup after a chippy play burst whatever bubble of civility that remained between the two. Started by the Pistons big man, saw Bird try to take Laimbeer's head off with the basketball, resulting in both getting ejected from the contest.
