The Green Bay Packers offensive line has a lot to prove following a disappointing 2025 season and entering the 2026 season. Brandon Thorn, an expert on offensive line play writing for "Establish the Run," ranked the Packers as the 29th best offensive line in the 32-team NFL going into 2026 (subscription required).
The Packers, who will have new preferred starters at left tackle, center and right guard, fell into the fifth and final tier of NFL offensive lines, which Thorn describes as "multiple unresolved positions or low-end starter profiles with a fragile weekly floor."
The Packers are moving 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan to left tackle, replacing Rasheed Walker. Sean Rhyan got a new deal and will take over at center, a position he played to end the 2025 season. And 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton will enter camp as the favorite at right guard after learning the position on the fly to finish his rookie year.
The other two expected starters are left guard Aaron Banks, who battled through an injury-plagued first season in Green Bay, and right tackle Zach Tom, the team's best lineman who is coming off knee surgery. Problems with staying healthy was a consistent problem for the offensive line overall in 2025.
The larger problem for Thorn in 2026? The Packers have fairly substantial question marks at left tackle, left guard, center and right guard, and Tom is coming off a major injury. The depth is also questionable, with Darian Kinnard and Jager Burton expected to be top backups. A lot needs to go right for the Packers to be a top offensive line in 2026.
The question marks appear legitimate. Morgan will be a first-time starter at left tackle, although he has a real opportunity to improve the position over the 2025 version of Rasheed Walker. Banks needs to stay healthy and be far more consistent. Rhyan has to build on the foundation he built at center to end last year. Belton has to get a lot more consistent in pass protection. And Tom must prove he's the same player coming off an injury-marred season.
In a Twitter response to the ranking, Thorn called the Packers offensive line the "most underwhelming 5-man personnel GB has had in recent memory with significant variance with 4 of the 5."

The offensive line has to be considered one of the biggest concerns for the Packers entering 2026. Without improvement, it's hard to see Matt LaFleur's team being title worthy in the NFC.
The Tier 1 offensive lines were the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills.
