Ogle’s big day guides Frontenac Softball to doubleheader sweep over Girard

GIRARD, KS — After a big day behind the plate from Ace Ogle, the Frontenac Raiders secured a doubleheader sweep over the Girard Trojans on the road.

The visitors took game one 13-1 and continued its dominance to start game two with a 4-0 first-inning lead.

In the following frame, Ace Ogle cranked a grand slam over left field to extend Frontenac’s lead 8-0. Ogle would go on to drill another homer in the fifth inning.

Ogle cranked a grand slam over left field in the second inning versus Girard, along with another home run in the fifth.

The runs continued to pour in for the visitors after an RBI double from Stevi Likely to start the third inning.

Frontenac’s Hadley Goodwin held things down in the pitching circle in game two as well with ten strikeouts, along with allowing zero runs.

Game two ended in similar fashion with the Raiders taking care of business in a 14-0 shutout.
