Just saw a reel about QB passes over 25 yards, 20 yards, and 15 yards. Since 2022, Kyler was almost last or dead last in each one. And some here still label him as mid? SMH.
He’s a very average QB since he lost the deep ball yes. He was definitely above average when he had that zip. Not clutch but still top 10-12 in the league his first ~4 years. The running ability you always conveniently leave out of all your arguments.

Must be said that the AZ Cardinals have had a league average or better QB like maybe 10-12 years at best of their 40 year existence? It was time to move on from Kyler but expecting someone of his ability or better to fall on our heads blatantly ignores the history of the franchise.

Cards Fans: K1 Sucks

Actual NFL Teams: Imagine what we can do with him at the QB position.
Slightly off, actually.

It was...

Cards' organization: Imagine what we can do with him at the QB position.

7 years later...

Cards' Fans: K1 sucks

Other NFL Teams, ignoring the past 7 years: Imagine what we can do with him at the QB position.

This is a cycle that happens all of the time in the league. Just because other teams and other head coaches think they can pick another teams QB off the trash pile and mold them into something better does not mean it is going to happen. In reality, they usually toss that QB aside at a later date because they couldn't do much with them as QB either.

Well…there’s also a long history in this league of successful franchises turning the chicken sh-t of organizations like the Cardinals into chicken salad. So I understand why teams would theoretically somewhat ignore what he did here.

My theory is that a competent organization signs him, their staff competent training somewhat fixes whatever has made him lose his deep ball, and he’s able to carve out a couple more successful top 12’ish but not MVP level QB seasons before he physically is finished.

Please name the QBs that fall into the OROY, 2x Probowler, Playoffs, 7 years on the same team bucket?

You as well.

Again the Cards better be praying to sweet baby Jesus that K1 flames out because otherwise it will be an indictment on them on why K1 couldn’t succeed here.

Playoffs? We ain't talking about playoffs. Playoffs? This is a feather in his cap, when he melted down and couldn't win a clinching game, then he shat his pants and got pouty in the actual game? No. Pro bowler? Big whoop. OROY is a legit accolade and gave us a lot of hope. So did his play...for a short time. Then he cratered.

How do you know? Just because it's reported don't make it true. No team is willing to trade for him to guarantee his services. That should tell you something. He's a risk, so teams would rather enter a competition for him vs guarantee great talent.
It's the contract that is the issue. If he had a more reasonable contract that matched his value, he would have already been traded. Teams will compete for his services, but it is mostly on the Cardinal's dime, so low risk high reward for them.

He QUIT in the one and only playoff appearance he has had (I hesitate to call it an actual game). He refused to go in for the end of it. Pouty McPoutface sat on the bench and Colt McCoy had to go in to play.

This is an excuse not a reason. The Cards are already paying huge money to Kyler. They could have assumed that in a trade to make the numbers work.

It should be pretty damning that no one wanted Kyler at, like 2-years, $24 million guaranteed.

The qualifier that makes that difficult is the OROY award because besides 1970 it almost always went to a RB, FB, or WR until 2004 when Big Ben won it. But since you asked.

Kyler Murray
Big Ben
Matt Ryan
Cam Newton
Dak Prescott
Justin Herbert (this season will be his 7th on the same team)

Couple of actual MVPs on that list.

They know he is better than JJ ever will be.
If this is the case, there will be no doubt that he’ll be their QB next year, right? I mean, why wouldn’t he be considering how cheap he should come and how badly Kyler should be willing to prove he wants to win?

And yet can still be best of friends…. Stats don’t matter in relation to his post about his friend.

No doubt?

A lot of moving parts and a lot of egos involved. You know that in pro sports, what is logical or common sense doesn't always happen

And Kyler was his first pro QB. While they didn't have as many TD's as you would like, they still connected on the field a lot
