He can opt out and do what Jalen Brunson and Wemby did. Take a pay cut for the good of the team. Suns has already paid him more than enough.

He literally cannot. You can't renegotiate to a lower number in the NBA, the contracts are fully guaranteed. Wemby and Brunson didn't opt out they were up for extensions when they signed those deals.

I forgot about that trade... the wrong Brooks.

That was comedy.

I don't think I would have wanted a young Brooks on the team though, so it was for the best. I think his antics and unseriousness in Memphis helped set the tone for that team in a really bad way.

Also, as much as Oubre irritated me with selfish play and awful defense, we kinda needed a guy with some swagger after several miserable seasons.

That deal ended up working out, surprisingly. I liked Oubre for what he brought mentally. His play was up and down. I can see a lot of similarities between adding Oubre back then to Brooks now, their attitude helps this team more than their play.

I imagine that's been something Dillon has thought about over the years though. He was almost dealt here and then eventually was. Rather than being a young prospect here though he's a veteran looked to for leadership. Definitely an odd situation.
