Not sure I understand the 'confidence points' thing. What is to keep someone from assigning 15 points to each game? Is there a detremint for losing after assigning confidence points to each?

So I need a clarification on the points. If the spread is 3 and they win by 3 does anyone get points.

Isn't that kinda like a tie?

I guess my question is did the people who picked the Jets win last night's game?

It is not a spread.

If you picked the 'skins you get the # of confidence points you selected for that game.

Thanks for the reply KOC.

I did have the 'skins and it is indicated as a wrong answer.

I am not complaining, just wondering how it works exactly.

The 3 points is the spread, and they have to cover. If you selected the Jets, you win, because the 'Skins failed to cover.

I think a tie is a push and noone wins the confidence points. Since the spread was 3 at this point everyone has zero points.

That seems a little weird that it is Skins -3 and they win by 3. By my math that is a tie. Underdog wins in a tie?

Why wouldn't they make the spread 3.5 or 2.5?

Just curious.

Oh, maybe. I thought that the 'Skins had to cover (win by 4), or else you didn't get the points. Do they "push" at casino books?

On the other hand, with my loss, TJ's Rising was still holding firm to the #1 ranking, as they will all season, so you're probably right.

I guess that is why they set the line that way. Nobody wins in that situation.

Yes, in the sense that you "lose" whatever confidence points you assigned to the game (e.g., the "tie" hurts someone who allocated 11 points more than the guy who allocated 4). Clear as mud?

I was talking about in Vegas mostly (would I get my $10 back?), but I don't think you "lose" the points in the pick'em league, do you?

I lost on the spread, but my point value was still listed at "0", rather than -6. EDIT: All right, I just read the rules, and if you miss, you just get zero points, not points deducted.

Do people that picked the Jets with the spread also lose those points? That doesn't seem very fair in a "push" situation. EDIT: Again, after reading the rules, if it's a "push" no one wins, and no one gets any points.

Sounds like you've figured it out. What you "lose" is the potential to add those points to your weekly total. Out of the 136 points possible on a 16-game schedule, kiss whatever points you allocated to the Jets-Skins game goodbye.

I didn't even see the spread.

I picked the Jets and have a big X next to my pick. That means I got it wrong.
