NEW YORK — The Mets turned in one of their most complete performances of the season on Saturday afternoon.
Christian Scott limited the Marlins to one earned run in five innings, Mark Vientos drove in two runs and Hayden Senger delivered his first career home run in a 6-1 victory.
The Mets will go for the sweep against the Marlins and a fourth straight win at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday at Citi Field.
Nolan McLean is coming off two of his worst starts of his career and will be looking to right the ship.
Last time out against the Reds, McLean allowed seven earned runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 3⅓ innings.
McLean enters the day with a 2-4 record, 4.40 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.
The Marlins made a late scratch before Sunday's game and Janson Junk will no longer make the start. It will be a bullpen game for the Marlins, led by left-hander John King.
