The Mets offense was back to humming on Sunday afternoon.
After being shut out on Saturday night, they responded by rattling off 11 runs to secure a victory in the rubber game.
The Mets now enter a three-game series against the Braves, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Truist Park, having won five of their first six games on their nine-game road trip.
Bo Bichette starred on Sunday afternoon, going 5-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and three RBI. Luis Robert Jr. broke the game open with a two-run home run in the third inning and drove in four runs in the victory.
The Mets (52-67) offense has found its groove throughout the trip with six runs or more in each of their five wins.
The Braves (71-47) had won eight straight games before they traveled north to the Bronx for a three-game series with the Yankees last weekend and dropped the first two games of their three-game set.
The Mets are 19.5 games back of the first-place Braves, who have opened a 8.5-game lead over the second-place Phillies. The Mets are 6-4 against the Braves this season.
Christian Scott will be making his 17th start of the season for the Mets, entering with a 3-3 record, 3.15 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 92 strikeouts in 74⅓ innings.
Scott registered a no-decision against the Guardians last week, allowing three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven in five innings.
The Braves will open the series with right-hander Bryce Elder on the mound. The 27-year-old is 8-6 with a 3.69 ERA and 1.20 WHIP and 104 strikeouts in 22 starts (126⅔ innings) this season. He held the Marlins to one earned run across seven innings last time out.
