I also beg to differ. My kid is the most important thing in my life and takes precedence over anything else, job included. Any job I have got they know this before hand.

Boldin also has that "C" on his jersey. Meaning he has a much higher responsibility to set a tone, pace, vibe, or what will you.

I think any of it is no big deal. I think you making excuses as to the "reasons" is where the problem lies. My kids are my life too. However due to scheduling sometimes there birthday celebrations just have to wait or happen early. My kids understand that and can care less.

If we're going to go all Working Class Hero crap on this, then all of you should think about the guy who lives in his car right now with his family because he got laid off and then think about the times you griped about being underpaid and underappreciated for what you do.

My point is you can't cast stones when you've done it yourselves. And if any one of you claims to have not griped about their job or not being appreciated for what you've contributed, you either aren't contributing anything or you're full of crap.

I'm not preaching. It's human nature these days to want more. It's a buyers market if you're one of the best at your craft. You can't compare our jobs with theirs because if we told our boss to go find someone equal or better, they would. You can't do that in the NFL. Otherwise, the Cards would have just let Fitz go.

Whatever any of our situations are, the fact that we're online means we have it better than somebody else out there because we can afford an ISP.

they dont want to get injured unnecessarily -- a season ending injury means there is no way the deal gets renegotiated this year, and probably means that the team waits to see if he returns to form prior to giving more money.

I was suprised at just how many injuries were scrolling through at the bottom of the screen last night on NFL network. All of them occured during OTA's. Many requiring surgeries.

In some cases maybe. However my work affords me the opportunity to give these kids the lifestyle they enjoy. It affords me the opportunity to have 3 day weekends as compared to the average parents 2 day weekend to spend with them. It affords me 6.5 weeks vacation per year to spend more time with them than most peoples 2-3 weeks vacation etc.......

Its called looking at the big picture. A kid dont care if you celebrate his birthday on the exact date. They care about spending quality time with their parents and getting really cool gifts. The date is unconsequential.

So no need to feel sorry for my kids.

Then why is Wilson there, or Dansby. Plus Boldin wouldnt be doing any drills anyways since he is rehabbing. There is no risk of injury for him. He can just sit back rehab, talk with the rookies, take in some fild sessions, and so on. Dockett is different but he is only in year two of his deal in the first place so he has nothing to stand on no matter what.

I guess it is the chicken or the egg. Do you practice your heart out to get a better deal in good faith, or do you not practice because you dont want to get injured to get a better deal.

They both signed a contract they apparently were happy with when they signed it.

The problem with this is that NFL teams also agree to a contract with the players; however, if the player underperforms, they are allowed to cut them at any time.

Why is it that only the players get bashed for holding out?

How many posts are on this site proclaiming we should cut Shipp because he makes too much money? The Cards signed him to the contract, shouldn't they be obligated to keep and pay him?

Until all contracts are guaranteed in the NFL, I don't care what a player does to try and get more money, so long as they dont break the "Cardinal" rule...in this case, don't ever publicly bad-mouth the team/organization.

Q got his last contract by staying cool and working hard. He'll be back and going strong. As for DD who knows? All I can tell you is that both players have already been rewarded. Kinda silly really 'cause none of us really knows whats going on.
