Green Bay Packers star tight end Tucker Kraft is entering the final year of his contract and is coming off a torn ACL. Despite the injury, Kraft is working on inking a new deal to stay with Green Bay long-term.

The 25-year-old tight end is expected to play in Week 1 of the 2026 season for the Packers, and they will need him to return to his elite level of play.

In the 2025 season, Kraft finished with 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns across eight games. He was establishing himself as one of the best tight ends in the league before he went down with a torn ACL.

Kraft is dynamic after the catch and was a key piece for Jordan Love and Green Bay's offense. He was one of Love's favorite targets as he put together a career year, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

The Packers offense was at its best in the 2025 season with Kraft as a featured target and Matt LaFleur being aggressive and trusting Love and the passing attack. While he's coming off an injury, Kraft will likely still earn a big payday due to his value on the field for the franchise.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he's the highest paid tight end in the league here in the next couple weeks," The Athletic's Matt Schneidman said.

Based on his production on the field, this should be no surprise, but with his injury, it is a risk for the Packers to ink him to an expensive contract.

Green Bay has prioritized extending key pieces around Love and Micah Parsons as they are in their Super Bowl window. The Packers have extended Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Devonte Wyatt on long-term deals this offseason.

Green Bay also parted with Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, which will open up more opportunities for Kraft and the receiver core to earn targets.

Although it will be pricey, Kraft is one of the best tight ends in the league and will be a focal point for Green Bay's offense as they look to make a Super Bowl push in the 2026 season.
