Did they actually ever leave it doesnt seem like it to me except when Warner and Palmer were here for those fleeting moments

But what moments they were!
Everyone in disbelief during the Warner years....and down in Louisiana where I lived at the time...respect, during the Palmer years.

More than anything else... I miss fans of other teams asking me about our playoff prospects this season without a hint of mockery.

Would you have said the same thing if it was a QB you really liked? lol

If they started so few games and people wanted him at #3 overall? Yes. I like that Drew Allar threw well and hope it helps his draft stock, but he's not a QB anyone's clamoring to take in the 1st round, let alone #3. Throwing well at the combine should be a nothingburger for Simpson, but for some team it will matter. Let's not be that team.
