unless i am missing something i just dont see any accolades that make me think he would be a great hire
The Miami defense was really good last year. It was 20th in DVOA this year despite not having any defensive backs and trading their top pass rusher midseason.

He helped develop Nmamdi Madubike and Kyle Van Noy.

I think “great hire” is overdoing it a little but he’s a legit candidate getting into the national conversation.

Not picking on you but is 20th really good?

Flores has been top 5 the last two years IIRC
Two years ago it was really good. This year it was better than could be expected considering their talent level.

There is some feeling of We Have Flores At Home.

I wonder if our next coach sells Monti and Mikey that he can win with Brissett. JB put up crazy good passing numbers without a running game and horrible defense to help him get the ball back.
JB showed that MW is a very good wr and Trey can catch TD passes.
Yes the turn overs were too high but the Oline sucked and Petzing is not a good OC.
If the new HC can get the D to not turtle and fix the Oline then JB might be good enough to get us to the playoffs.
Keep in mind I'm not saying this but the FO could buy this pitch from a HC candidate.

The Cards have some good pieces, but no big name coach will coach here; other than maybe John Harbaugh. If he wants to get a challenge and show everyone; I'd welcome it. It was mistake by Baltimore...they were too trigger happy...let's rewrite history. JH would change Cards football forever. MB would also grow as an owner too knowing everything will get handled. They'll take the Alabama quarterback third overall, and OL will come play for JH.

Yeah, picking s College QB with 15 starts is a plan; not a good one, but a plan nonetheless.

Kind of a weak list.. I wonder if they are zeroing in on Saleh as option A.
I doubt that Saleh wants to come here after his experience with the Jets (dysfunctional organization, poor quarterback situation).
What's our interest in a defense-minded head coach who was just fired after back to back 8-9 seasons?

That might not be the plan. An OT is a plan.

When it's all about the quarterback it is a plan. What do want...to wait 5 years for an OL to develop or draft rb Love? It's the only plan. It might not be Ty Simpson that is drafted. The playoffs lowered his draft Stock. Chambliss is the qb I've been noticing. OL needs to be fixed in FA.

I tiptoed into this earlier, so as the ignorant new guy I'll do it again. Do we really care what color the coach's skin is as long as he (assumption since that might be the next consideration) is a good coach and can help this franchise win? Seriously, why are we dancing around this? I don't care if the coach is purple. If he can turn this thing around, I'm all for it. I'm only here for football/Cards talk, not PC stuff. Sorry, not trying to be difficult.
And again, no thanks on Dante Moore (even with Lanning) or Simpson.
The league cares whom they interview and to a lesser extent whom they choose.

Credited with developing Jadeveon Clowney and Nnamdi Madubuike. He had numerous players he coached chosen for the Pro Bowl. Coached the Dolphins to the NFL’s 4th ranked defense. He was the Assistant HC of 3 Ravens playoff teams. He was a finalist for AHC of the Year in 2024. Most of those being considered don’t have a bunch of accolades. If you value Campbell’s opinion (he played for Weaver in Baltimore and went to Miami to play for him) Campbell sees Weaver as a transformative leader who brings energy, intelligence, and a clear vision for a dominant defense. I’ll take that.

You know, if Gannon would have been our DC or even better was our Secondary coach, I would be cool. If Kliff would have been our OC or maybe better QB coach, you bet. Maybe I am wrong but isn't being a head coach a totally different animal to a certain extent.

Now I consider our dysfunctional franchise, and I simply want a head coach with experience. You know, a guy who had done it and can have a chance of weathering the Bidwill clusterbeep. A guy with established NFL connections who can recruit NFL quality assistants to lead the defense and offense. A guy who can have a known name which can at least bring in some free agents because before getting into this hot mess showed a glimmer of 'hey you can be successful'. Considering this, it might be a 'meh' hire but this is the Cardinals

THIS IS GROSS. I HAVE READ THIS SO MANY TIMES ON THIS BOARD SINCE IT WAS ANNOUNCED. The latent racism in calling a black coach's interview a "Rooney Rule" interview is so icky. Whether you (the royal you, slan, this is for everyone who has posited this)mean it that way or not, you are essentially saying that the ONLY reason a black coach is getting an interview, is because he is black. As if running a top 3 D on a 14-3 team isn't enough. Jesus H Christ.

Every one of you who is comfortable typing this sentiment needs to check yourself. Im out on the topic.

Im not responding to any inevitable criticisms of my viewpoint. Go look in a mirror.
I agree with what you said. Vance has credentials to be given a chance. But please leave my Lord and Savior out of it. Thank you

I don’t understand the Saleh love at all. He’s just Gannon with a personality.
I wouldn't mind Saleh, they had a lot of injuries on D and where still respectful most games. And he doesn't look like a dead man walking on the sidelines.

taking notes like Carley Irsay.

Sorry for the tangent but based solely on Social Media I really like her. She seems to have a genuine interest, wants to learn, and I hear no complaints about not staying in her lane. And she's kinda cute, in a way. Her Press Conference the other day was good I thought
