Cardinals have requested to interview vance Joseph

yuck
I think the Kliff experiment would have worked better if Vance had been the head coach and Kliff had been the OC.

Vance is a good coach that got straddled with a GM releasing all his good linebackers so he would be forced to play crappy ILBs like Simmons and Zaven.

Kliff is available too! Run it back!

Is there anyone on the Broncos whom Joseph could poach as an OC? I know Payton calls the plays, but it would be interesting if, after failing to land Payton as HC, the Cards ended up raiding his staff of his DC and some of his offensive coaches.

Google tells me that Payton's "coaching tree" includes Joe Brady (Bills OC), John Morton (Lions OC), Doug Marrone (Patriots OL Coach), and Declan Doyle (Bears OC).

With what he's done in Denver with that defense, he's gonna be a popular interview.
And with any defensive coach, a lot of it would come down to your plan to put together an offensive staff. If he says he can bring Davis Webb along with him, that might make him more attractive as a HC than when he previously interviewed. Also, is his plan to run the defense or bring someone in and take a hands off approach like Gannon did?

I don't mind him as an interview, and the reservations I have with him are probably the same as most defensive HCs.

QB coach Davis Webb if you are looking for a name from inside the Broncos organization.

Sure he has. So many people wanted him run out of town. Saying he was a terrible DC well he’s proving those nay sayers were wrong.
Does the current Cardinals defensive roster fit his scheme better than the previous defensive roster they had? Memory serves, the biggest issue was that he likes his defensive backs to play more off the line of scrimmage instead of aggressive. How do the current players match up in that kind of a system?

Based on what the clowns were talking about yesterday it sounds like they have a bunch of guys currently in the playoffs on their list. So it’s going to be a minute before we interview Brad Idzik.
Don't we always make our head coach near the end of the cycle? "So...you want to be an NFL head coach?" probably hits harder once every other option dries up!

Reportedly interviewing 3 defensive coaches so far. Expect them to add some offensive coaches to the list.
