New York TV host slams Knicks losing star, ‘I hate this’

The New York Knicks have lost a key star after winning the 2026 NBA Championship.

There’s no doubt that the likes of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns played the most important roles during the New York Knicks’ 2026 NBA Championship run.

However, the dynamic duo wouldn’t have managed to end the Knicks’ 53-year NBA title drought without the help of key role players.

Speaking of key role players, center Mitchell Robinson certainly played a crucial role off the bench for the Knicks. Unfortunately, the veteran center has decided to take his talents elsewhere next season.

Mitchell Robinson signs a three-year deal with the Boston Celtics​

Since being drafted as the 36th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Robinson had spent his entire career with the Knicks.

However, with owner James Dolan reportedly seeking to lower the salary bill of the Knicks, Robinson was among the first players to leave the organization, and he signed with their conference rivals, the Boston Celtics.

As reported by Charania, Robinson has signed on the dotted line for a three-year, $47 million contract with the Celtics. The deal offers a player option in the final year.

Upon hearing this news, a lot of Knicks fans have expressed their anger with the front office and this includes a New York TV host.

John Jastremski makes ‘hate’ admission over Mitchell Robinson​

When looking at Robinson’s numbers, his averages of 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game from the bench do not seem hard to replace.

However, judging by John Jastremski’s reaction to the news, it’s obvious that Robinson did more than just fill the box score for the Knicks.


In fact, Robinson’s most important role under head coach Mike Brown was to be the defensive anchor of the second unit. He also helped in keeping KAT rested whenever required during games.

At the end of the day, this loss could prove to be catastrophic if the Knicks hope to win back-to-back NBA Championships.
