The New York Giantsare hiring Dennard Wilson as their new defensive coordinator under head coach John Harbaugh.

The 43-year-old Wilson most recently served as the Tennessee Titans' defensive coordinator, where he guided the unit to a No. 2 ranking in total defense (311.2 yards per game) and passing defense (177.3 ypg) in his debut play-calling season -- marks not seen since 2000.

A former Ravens defensive backs coach under Harbaugh, Wilson brings proven secondary expertise and schematic discipline to a Giants defense that struggled mightily last year. This reunion aims to spark a much-needed turnaround.

Dennard Wilson isn’t another Shane Bowen and they have nothing in common schematically other than the team hat they wore.

Even just looking at Titans fans largely positive view of Wilson vs their laughter of Bowen should end that comp beyond just joking.
