As Robert Saleh begins to construct his staff in his first season as the Tennessee Titans' head coach, most of the returning coaches have started their search for a new home. One of those is Dennard Wilson, who was relieved of his duties as defensive coordinator on Thursday.

Wilson was granted permission to interview with the Washington Commanders in early January and has now added the Los Angeles Chargers to his list of teams. The Chargers are in need of a new defensive coordinator after Jesse Minter took the head coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens, and Wilson does have some familiarity with the system they employ.

Wilson was solid in his time as the Titans' defensive coordinator, even if the results were less than stellar. The Titans’ defense played hard and often actually outperformed the final box score on the field, but the lack of depth and top-end talent was easily exposed over four quarters.

Unlike earlier in the month, now that Saleh has relieved Wilson of his duties, he is free to sign anywhere to coach in the 2026 season and could be a candidate with multiple franchises as the dust settles on this coaching carousel.
