I remember someone posed a question about parking at the new stadium. I asked about it and it will be mostly surface lot parking as opposed to garage parking. Exact details will be released in the official site plan this Summer.

I guess that this is good news for all tailgate traditionalists!

OH YEA!!

Screw the garage, give us the 100 degree heat to cook in, swig margs, and drink beer in. Oh, and eat a bit too. I'm serious!

Has anyone ever been to the Arrowhead/Kaufmann Stadium complex in KC? I thought that it was the best setup I have ever seen. We pulled in the parking lot on our way to the locker room and it looked foggy. There were so many BBQ pits and tailgaters going it was amazing. The best thing about it is that there are the two stadiums and a massive amount of surface lot parking everywhere you look. It is almost as if they treat sports bars as evil establishments because the entire parking lot was THEIR own giant sports bar!

I think Chiefs fans are tops in the NFL.

Man...after what I saw this year, I would have to agree with you. They were actually classy too. Remember when Pete Kendall got hurt in that game? They gave him a standing ovation as he was being carted off the field. I have never seen that on the road. I was impressed.

I was there this past Dec. 1st. The tailgate scene was pretty excellent. My only beef was that the lots didn't open until 3 hours before gametime (9am local time). Meanwhile, I had driven up to the complex at 8am ready to go and was sitting in my car at the gate to the lot for an hour (along with about 100 other cars)! I couldn't believe it!

I will say, though, that as soon as the gates opened at 9am, the KC fans had the tailgates set-up and the grills going in about 5 minutes flat, if that! LOL!

Too bad the game sucked. :(

I live in KC and yes it is the tailgate capital of the world.

We are actually professionals at it plus on a crisp fall day it is unbelievable.

Hard to believe that sports complex was designed almost 40 years ago it's an amazing place.

Kaufman stadium is an excellent baseball park too but the Royals usually stink..

This year could be different though..... :)

We have "crisp" fall days here as well, it's just the definition of crisp is different.

As in burnt to a crisp.

Try going to Green Bay for a game sometime and that might change your mind...although I think KC fans are up there!

Have been there, great time before and after the game. They have these huge cement tubes on the parking lot were you can dispose of your hot briquets before the game, or throw a Bear fan in.
