Knoxville Smokies parking tips and shuttles for Covenant Health Park

Parking will mostly stay the same in 2026 for Knoxville Smokies games at Covenant Health Park after plans were adjusted through the previous season to address complaints about access to nearby businesses on game days.

Team and stadium staff are working to educate fans about how to make parking less stressful with the start of the 2026 Smokies season just around the corner: 7 p.m. April 3 against the Birmingham Barons.

Whether you're bound for the ballpark on Opening Day or are preparing in advance for how you're getting to the stadium, be sure to stay informed about where you can park and for how long.

The last thing you want is a ticket or to get towed.

Know where to park for Knoxville Smokies games or pay in advance​

While we'll break down how to park anywhere downtown, these options have spots reserved for Smokies fans − some open to the general public, some more narrow. More than 30 private lots are within walking distance of the stadium, according to an online map showing nearby parking options.

• Langley Garage (530 Summer Place): This garage dedicates $5 prepaid spots for gameday parking, and fans can take a free shuttle from the garage to the stadium. You can reserve a spot now using the Park Mobile app ahead of the next game.
• Old City Lot North (305 E. Jackson Ave.): This lot is reserved for monthly parking at all times. Up to 50 spaces in this lot will be leased by Smokies owner Boyd Sports for team and staff parking.
• Old City Lot South (300 E. Jackson Ave.): On game days, this lot south of Jackson Avenue will be reserved for ADA and Smokies season ticketholder parking. Bicycle and scooter parking is available near these lots. When events aren't scheduled at the stadium, this lot offers paid parking on weekdays and free parking on nights and weekends.
• Summer Place Garage (500 W. Summit Hill Drive): This garage also dedicates $5 prepaid spots for gameday parking, and fans can take a free shuttle from the garage to the stadium. You can reserve a spot now ahead of the next game.

• Downtown parking prices: Downtown garages without reserved gameday parking have a fee of $1 per hour ($7 max per day). You must pay for parking 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parking is free after 6 p.m. on weeknights and all day Saturday and Sunday.
• Market Square Garage: This garage is an exception to downtown's free weekend parking policies, as you'll be charged a $3 flat fee to park on Saturdays.
• I-40 Lots (510 Williams St.): These parking lots along West Magnolia Avenue beneath Interstate 40 have free parking about a half mile from the stadium.
• Rideshare availability: Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is near the east entrance of the stadium at the corner of Florida Street and East Jackson Avenue. Uber and Lyft both operate in Knoxville.

Knoxville Smokies free shuttle: A great option​

Anyone can use the free shuttle, even those who don't have a reserved spot at the Langley and Summer Place garages.

Fans can pick up the shuttle at Summer Place and Walnut Street (near Market Square) for a free ride to the stadium and back after the game.

Shuttles are provided by Knoxville Area Transit and run every 10 minutes on Smokies game days. The ride takes about 5 minutes.

Use phone to make street parking easier on Knoxville game days​

Other downtown parking options, including on-street parking, shifted from parking meters to online payments last year. Streetside parking spots in downtown, the Old City and Fort Sanders now have ParkMobile signs in place of meters.

Here's how to pay:

1. Download the ParkMobile app from your phone's app store.
2. Find a space, park and register your car by finding the space on the mobile app or browser. You also can text "park" to 77223 or scan a QR code on the sign. Any of these options will take you to the ParkMobile site.
3. Find the parking zone code on the sign and enter that number to register your spot.
4. Enter how long you plan to park. Each space has a maximum time limit, ranging from two to 10 hours depending on location. Enter your license plate number, along with the country and state where your vehicle is registered. Your license plate number must be entered correctly, or the site will not accept it.
5. Input your credit card information to pay for your spot.

Knoxville increased the cost of on-street parking ahead of last season and changed time limits:

• The two-hour maximum zone in busy areas has increased from $1.50 to $2 per hour.
• The four-hour maximum parking zone rate is $1 per hour. Many spots that offered 10-hour parking have been converted to four-hour maximums.
• Ten-hour maximum parking on Central Street from Summit Hill Drive to Main Street costs $1 per hour.

Paid on-street parking will be enforced 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Other times are free.

No "feeding the meter": If you pay for one hour in a two-hour spot, you can pay to extend your time by another hour on the app. If you park at a two-hour parking spot, you will not be allowed to purchase more time. Drivers cannot rent multiple spaces at one time. And once you leave the spot, your time is canceled and someone else can pay to park there.
