I think Oubre injected some of the right stuff. Did we have Rubio then? Or did he play before or after? I think he had a good influence in addition to Bridges' good spirit.

Elie Okobo, Isaiah Canaan, Tyler Johnson, Juwan Evans, Mike James, Shaquille Harrison, and Tyler Ulis. Throw in some Elfrid Payton also to further ruin your day. He's probably the only name and face people remember and sadly it wasn't his face as much as his hair that made him memorable. It wasn't his play, unless you're @Phrazbit who wakes up cursing his name at least once every couple of months.

Me too. I'm intrigued by some of our moves but I have no idea if we've done enough to make much of a difference. If our rookies don't improve and show out, we're just last year's team without it's best player.

What other choices does he have when we don't own our first round picks? Unless Book is traded to Houston for the return of our picks, being bad doesn't really benefit us. Getting late firsts from another contending team doesn't help either unless they happen to hold firsts from other bad teams.

Could also serve to cut salary which puts us in a position to (a) pursue free agents; and (b) go the OKC route where they acquired draft picks by taking on other teams unwanted contracts.

Also, our record over the next few years shouldn’t even come into conversation anymore . . . it’s spent capital.

be better defensively at the rim with all the additional length we’ve added with Williams, maluach, and Fleming, even if two of them are young. The addition of brooks should help defensively too. I’ll be surprised if we’re not better defensively.

Hopefully. But between raw rookies and a talented though injury prone starting center, I'm just not sure what we'll see. I really like the potential of the rookies, I like the center trade but, like many here, I have some concerns about Green. I am more hopeful given the changes we've made but until we get there I have no idea what knee-jerk moves this front office might make. I think we're making better decisions but we'll see.

Sure, if you want. One team out of 30 wins it all each year. Many other teams have had fruitless histories as well then. It's all relative though, isn't it? Some of those teams have barely sniffed the playoffs.

I personally would rather watch a good to great team that makes the playoffs and occasionally goes far than the alternative. You have to enjoy the journey in basketball and in life. It's not always about the destination.

To be fair to the rest of them, Payton was the worst of the bunch by a wide mile.

Who knew that the haircut wasn't actually holding him back, he was just terrible.

Have to admire the guy's confidence but if he keeps failing to back up all his talk he is just going to be a walking, talking infomercial. He is still a new owner learning how this league works. All we can hope for is that he is actually learning something. Time will tell.

I said the same but I also said it because I think we won't finish at the bottom of the West. We'll be somewhere around #10-12 in the West. I think the expectations of Ishbia are quite different from my own. I want to be watchable and show glimpses of where we're headed. I hope this season is as bad as it gets and we start trending up as Dunn, Maluach, Fleming, and others get more reps.

I bet the over on 30.5 wins and not that we'll be a playoff or play-in team.
