Yeah, but Simmons never said this. It was from a Ringer article. I heard an AZ Sports snippet the other day where Simmons responded and said as much. But then he goes on to say his only Suns prediction is the under on winning 31.5 games. So, he didn't say they were going to have the worst defense just that they're not going to win many games.

Ishbia said it was "Simmons and his crew" that spoke negatively about the Suns. I can't blame him for trying to drum up some positivity. Obviously going straight at Simmons is smarter than a Simmons employee also.

Someone has to have the worst defense…

Ishbia has said some pretty dumb things in the past so I’m numb to it. I think if Brooks & Dunn weren’t one of the best perimeter D combos we’d be bottom-3. Mark Williams has sub par rim protection numbers and nobody in the backcourt has a strong defensive reputation. Maybe we hit the jackpot with Ott and they all commit to it.

Whatever works. The idea of him being an uninvolved owner has passed. Eventually Sarver learned, but I see no sign of this yet happening with Ishbia.

My first reaction was highly negative but I think it clearly was an overreaction. Without more details, I see nothing wrong with this kind of favoritism.
