The Chicago Bears worked quickly on the first day of free agency to add to their linebacker position, signing veteran Devin Bush to a 3-year deal, worth $30 million and $21 million guaranteed.

The move helps upgrade the speed on the Bears defense, a point of emphasis that general manager Ryan Poles stated he wanted to accomplish this offseason and gives Bush a big opportunity with his new team.

Bush is coming off arguably the best season of his career in his second season with the Cleveland Browns, where he totaled a career-high 125 tackles, adding three interceptions, 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. According to Pro Football Focus, Bush was the third-highest graded linebacker last season, earning an 87.6 grade.

It is a relatively good deal for Chicago, rewarding Bush for the best season of his career and bringing in a player that fits the bill of what they're looking to add to Dennis Allen's defense. Another fun tidbit of Bush's 2025 season: Of his three interceptions, two of them were returned for touchdowns.
