Julius Randle is back in New York. However, this time, he’s on the other side of the East River.

The Nets have acquired former Knicks star Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft from the Minnesota Timberwolves for the No. 33 pick in the draft, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. It is a part of a three-team trade that sends center Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls.

Randle, a three-time All-Star all during his time with the Knicks, averaged 21.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 79 games last season. The 31-year-old was traded by the Knicks as a part of the Karl-Anthony Towns deal prior to the 2024-2025 season.

Randle, who helped build the Knicks’ winning culture, will now have to closely watch the likely season-long celebration of their first championship since 1973 from across town.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.
