BOSTON — It's not an exaggeration to say Boston Celtics center Neemias Queta carried the Green Team to a 114-98 win over the rival Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night at TD Garden. The 26-year-old notched a career-high 27 points while shooting over 70% from the field and grabbed a game-high 17 boards in 27 minutes of play.

Of course, he didn't do it all on his own, as Celtics star Jaylen Brown also tallied 27 points, which was enough to put him over 13,000 points in his career. He's now 188 points shy of entering the top-10 for all-time scoring in Celtics history. Celtics guard Derrick White was the third and final starter to score over 20 points against the Sixers, finishing with 21 points to go along with 8 assists.

Sunday night wasn't a beatdown, though. The Sixers hung around nearly all game and turned the ball over just 6 times in comparison to the Celtics' 15 turnovers. But, Philly could only muster 15 points in the fourth quarter and failed to keep Queta off the boards, losing the team rebounding battle 59-37.

Following the primetime victory, the Celtics are 40-20 this season — that's just two wins shy of their pace from the 2024-25 season when star forward Jayson Tatum was fully healthy. If Tatum is able to return in the coming weeks, Boston will solidify itself as a championship contender.

But before the playoffs arrive, the second-place C's will aim to finish the regular season strong and remain near the top of the Eastern Conference. The quest to do that continues on Monday night when they face the struggling Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.
