Michigan State will look to get back on the winning side in a road game at Big Ten rival Penn State on Saturday afternoon? Does Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal think they'll get it done out east?
Michigan State has been off this week and will play their first game since losing a tight one against Duke last weekend. The Spartans come into this matchup against Penn State with a 8-1 record and 1-0 mark in league play so far this season. Penn State has a similar record of 8-2 overall but is 0-1 in Big Ten play after losing by more than 40 points earlier this week at Indiana.
So does Couch believe the Spartans will bounce back from their first loss of the season and beat Penn State on Saturday? Yes, he does but he also expects this game to be potentially tricky if Michigan State isn't sharp -- here's a bit of his analysis and reasoning:
"MSU has been holding opponents to less than 29% from beyond the arc. That’ll be important to the Spartans controlling this game. MSU is a significantly better rebounding and defensive team, with a lot more experience and experience winning. That said, it will be the Spartans' first true road game and on a day Penn State is introducing new football coach Matt Campbell, so the Bryce Jordan Center crowd might actually be a formidable atmosphere."
