Michigan State football will wrap up its dreadful 2025 season on Saturday night against Maryland -- so will they finally win a Big Ten game? Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal has his thoughts on whether or not that'll happen.

The Spartans will face Maryland on Saturday night from Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. in both team's season finale. Michigan State comes into this game in search of their first Big Ten win, with the Spartans sitting at 3-8 overall and 0-8 in Big Ten play. Maryland isn't much better, as the Terps are 4-7 overall and 1-7 in Big Ten play.

The Spartans have lost eight straight games, while the Terps have lost seven straight games. Michigan State is listed as a narrow favorite, and ultimately, something has to give in this toss-up matchup between two of the Big Ten's worst teams.

One final time this season, Couch provided his thoughts on how this game could play out and some of the key elements to this Big Ten matchup. Here are the five key factors Couch has laid out for this matchup between the Spartans and Terrapins:

  • Can MSU put it all together, just once?
  • MSU’s surging defense vs. Maryland's limited offense
  • Ryan Eckley
  • Mike Locksley vs. Jonathan Smith
  • The crowd at Ford Field

So does Couch believe the Spartans will end the year on a high note with a win over the Terps? You'll need to read the full article on the Lansing State Journal to see his official breakdown and score prediction.
