The Mount Union Purple Raiders have wrestled back control of their own destiny in the Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball race.

Elijah Farrington scored 21 points and Chance Casenhiser finished with 18 to help lead the Purple Raiders past host Otterbein 74-69 in a battle of nationally-ranked OAC teams on Saturday, Jan. 31.

No. 13 Mount Union rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 3:53 to improve to 18-2 overall and 9-2 in the OAC. No. 21 Otterbein drops to second place at 16-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference.

Mount Union's season sweep of Otterbein gives the Purple Raiders the tiebreaker with the Cardinals. They lead Otterbein by one-half game and third-place Ohio Northern by a full game.

Troy Scowden led Otterbein with 17 points.
