The 2026 MLB season is through seven weeks, and we have seen some surprising performances thus far. There is a lot of baseball left, and player statistics and team performances will see a lot of movement. As the league enters week eight, here are the top ten catcher rankings.

Entering the week, Langeliers leads MLB catchers in home runs, hits, and OPS. He’s played a major role in the Athletics, leading the AL West. By season’s end, he can be the top-rated catcher in all statistical categories.
Hicks is off to a fantastic season. He’s making an early case to earn a spot on the NL All-Star roster. The Miami backstop has been one of the team’s best offensive producers.
Baldwin isn’t slowing down after winning last season’s NL Rookie of the Year. Entering the week, he’s second in hits among MLB catchers. The second-year catcher has a combination of getting on base and hitting for power.

The Dodgers are finding ways to keep Rushing’s bat in the lineup. He’s seeing more consistent playing time, and this bodes well for his ability to produce. Entering the week, he leads MLB catchers in OPS.
Rutschman is staying locked in. This season, his head seems clear, and he is having success. When he isn’t catching, his name has been etched into the DH spot.
Contreras continues to be one of the game’s most consistent catchers. He’s shown the ability to rebound quickly after struggling to produce for a few games. His bat is one of the most reliable in Milwaukee’s lineup.
After a slow start, Goodman is starting to send more balls out of the ballpark. Entering the week, Goodman is tied for second in home runs amongst MLB catchers. He’s aiming to make his second NL All-Star roster.

Dingler’s cooled off, but his defensive abilities will keep him in Detroit’s lineup. Through seven weeks, Dingler is on pace to set new career highs in home runs and RBI. The Detroit catcher can be expected to have hot stretches throughout the season.
He’s continuing to see at-bats and is producing. Jeffers has one of the best on-base percentages among MLB catchers. The Minnesota catcher is having the best season of his career.
The Baltimore rookie is putting his power on display. He continues to split time behind the plate with Adley Rutschman. Even when he’s not catching, Basallo is starting at designated hitter.
