2021 - Prove It
My counter argument would be if the scheme is that fragile, it can't be that good.True, but replacing him with a 4th round rookie in a complicated scheme didn’t help either.

My guess too. Maybe Parris saved Fry. I hate itMy glass half full view on Rallis is that maybe a bunch of players went to bat for him and basically said Rallis was hamstrung by Gannon.
Thank you. Remember that in 2024, that Rallis D held Stafford to zero touchdown passes in both games. If the pass from Murray doesn’t ricochet off Trey’s helmet for a weird INT, the Cardinals sweep the Rams & the Rams don’t make the playoffs. The 2025 games were late in the season when we were decimated with injuries on both sides of the ball.I respect your willingness to stretch to try to be positive.
You aren't going to sell me on it. Rallis has been in AZ for 3 seasons and has not produced anything better than a 15th ranked points allowed defense and never better than 21st in yards allowed.Thank you. Understood, but not certain that fragile is the right word. Just don’t think Simon was ready for that job, especially with injuries abound on that side of the ball. It’s no secret that I liked JG, but I do think that JG was far more conservative than Rallis is. And everything that Rallis called went through JG first. Let’s never forget that the Eagles were far more upset about losing Rallis than they were about losing JG. I know because I live in Eagles territory & have read and heard it many times. Many thought that Rallis would follow JG to GB, but the Eagles are watching what happens with Rallis very closely. They want him back on their staff, and probably as DC.My counter argument would be if the scheme is that fragile, it can't be that good.
why do you like the Schaub hire? No coaching experience at all.Whelp. Rallis and Frye…not exactly hires to inspire the fan base.
I like the Schaub hire.
Agreed. Is it possible the scheme was 100% Gannon and Rallis had zero leeway to change it, especially when injuries hit? Or even crazier, that Gannon thought his job was so safe, that he directed Rallis to go full vanilla on defense and basically tank?My counter argument would be if the scheme is that fragile, it can't be that good.
please tell me you’re kidding. The first question should’ve been how did you let us hang 45 and 37 points on you last year? Why did you not make any adjustments?I think that LaFleur knows first hand what a solid defensive mind Rallis is & that sometimes injuries DO matter. Instead of hiring someone with no experience calling defensive plays, he now has someone with 3 years of experience doing just that. No one has success calling plays when you’re forced to play 3rd & 4th string guys. I don’t think this is etched in stone, but if it is, I’m ok with it.
I struggle with this because throughout his entire tenure Gannon has said he will let his coaches coach to the point that last year people were frustrated because Gannon wouldn't do takeover.Agreed. I get it. It's all so mind boggling.I struggle with this because throughout his entire tenure Gannon has said he will let his coaches coach to the point that last year people were frustrated because Gannon wouldn't do that.
Now, people are convincing themselves that Gannon actually controlled everything Rallis did because Rallis was retained by a terrible owner and terrible GM. It seems like a huge stretch.
Compared to last guy i think it is an improvement. He said he liked it not loved it. Compared to Rallis and Frye it is a slight positive versus a big negative.why do you like the Schaub hire? No coaching experience at all.
couldn’t have said it better myselfOf all the worst coaches he could have retained, he arguably kept the absolute worst from last year.
Our defense ranked 27th overall and we were 29th in scoring defense.
Of course we all know how much of a downgrade Frye was from Klayton Adams.
And I don't want to hear any of this "well maybe Rallis was forced to do things he didn't want to under JG". JG confirmed he NEVER overrides play calls his coaches make.
These decisions are beyond embarrassing. I thought for a minute maybe a new regime could lead us out of this mess, too bad the new regime ended up being the old regime. It looks like all we did was bring in a new OC and disguise him as the HC.
This is why we can't be a normal franchise and compete with our division. It's honestly a slap in the face to the fans. If you're not serious about winning just come out and say it.
Holy Hell how low are we setting the bar?Compared to last guy i think it is an improvement. He said he liked it not loved it. Compared to Rallis and Frye it is a slight positive versus a big negative.
Well done, Lomax, but do you truly believe it? I am hanging my hat on a new defensive strategy and that they will hire an experienced advisory-guy. Martindale, Ron Rivera, someone else. I don’t know. A grown up in the room.My glass half full view on Rallis is that maybe a bunch of players went to bat for him and basically said Rallis was hamstrung by Gannon.
Seems weird that we didn’t at least claim Kyzir White off the Titans practice squad. Just another choice to not compete.True, but replacing him with a 4th round rookie in a complicated scheme didn’t help either.
When was the business started?xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
The defensive was bad at the beginning of the year when everyone was healthy. A lot of resources went into the defense last year. They underperformed.I think that LaFleur knows first hand what a solid defensive mind Rallis is & that sometimes injuries DO matter.
