Their safeties include a first-team All Pro (McKinney). Somehow their "nothing to worry about" roster managed to 6th (points) / 5th (yards) last season. Seems to me that upgrading from a good DT to a generational EDGE could make them pretty worrisome.

Seems they were doing pretty well without having to spend $47m on Parsons. Of course, they lost several starters since last year including Stokes and Alexander and their starting nose tackle TJ Slaton and of course, Kenny Clark. Parson's is great, I think they defense outside Parsons is worse.

I think that 47 mil a year is a bit exaggerated. The last two years will be voided. No way they're paying him 68 mil a year.

Jerry Jones was asked about details of the trade and why they traded him within the NFC. He said that the criteria was a trading partner with good Defensive linemen not AFC vs. NFC.

And said that they now have 4 1st rounders as assets that they can start using immidiately to improve the team.

It would be so Jerry Jones to pull off a panic trade after this.

From my Army days. We should be playing Taps for the Cowboys:

Him playing through this seems like a bad idea.

Wow. I wonder if the Packers knew about this prior to signing him to a massive contract. Back issues are always very concerning and tend to linger.

I mean, I don’t know how they wouldn’t? It was his entire reason for being on the pup list and on the sidelines at Cowboys camp. Was widely reported that he had received an MRI. Of which the cowboy said “mostly clean” which doesn’t exude good confidence that it’s 100% a good MRI. If they didn’t ask about it, then they are morons.

The Cowboys said the MRI on his back came back clean during the preseason.

Yea the headline on TV nfl network was “mostly clean” and then stated Parsons wanted a second opinion. Point remains the Packers had to know. This wasn’t some big secret.

JMO, but I think one team will be judged as having won the trade, don't know which one. But, I doubt that it will be a trade when they it helped both teams.

I wouldnt trip too much on that sprain... I suffer from the same issue fairly often... its way down the back by the sacrum, the pain comes in...like a burning sensation right at the top of your butt crack... the biggest issue with it is it flares when you try to burst with your legs...which in the case of an NFL pass rusher is about 50 times a game. The pain can be pretty intense, but the injury isnt going to reduce his effectiveness.... like the article says,...give the dude an epidural...that will reduce inflammation and handle most of the pain...and what they didnt say, is at game time and probably half time,...they will follow the epidural with a local injection, a numbing shot... he is gonna have to deal with it all season long because it generally takes 6 to 8 weeks of light duty and temperature therapy to get it healed...so they just have to manage the pain until the season is over...then he can focus on letting it heal.
