The Mets have now sent out both of their left-handed veteran relievers.
Brooks Raley has been traded from the Mets to the rival Phillies, according to a report by USA Today's Bob Nightengale. The move comes after the Mets also offloaded left-hander A.J. Minter to the Twins last Friday.
Raley and Minter were the two likeliest trade candidates out of the Mets' bullpen given their expiring deals. The Mets also traded Freddy Peralta to the Rays on Sunday and right-handed reliever Huascar Brazoban to the White Sox early Monday morning.
Raley has spent the last four seasons with the Mets and has been one of the core pieces of the club's bullpen after bouncing back from Tommy John surgery with an internal brace in May 2024 and re-signing with the team. The lefty tactician is 5-5 with a 1.96 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 40 strikeouts in 41⅓ innings.
The 38-year-old will earn roughly $1.4 million over the remainder of the 2027 season.
