It's been an ugly season for the New York Mets, and a lot of that can even be blamed on the injuries they've dealt with on both sides of the baseball.

Juan Soto was out for an extended period, Francisco Lindor is currently out, and others have been sidelined in the early stages of the campaign. The Mets have needed guys to step up, including infielder Bo Bichette, who is now going back to his old role.

It remains uncertain how long the Mets plan to use the former Toronto Blue Jays star at shortstop, but he recently spoke about the team's decision to give him a look there, and it sounds like he's interested in doing so.

"Whatever the team needs," Bichette told ESPN over the weekend, when asked about moving back to shortstop.

There are some things to worry about here, as Bichette has been one of the worst defensive shortstops in baseball over the past few seasons. Many believed that the Blue Jays moved on from him in free agency because of how bad he was on the defensive side of the baseball.

That's a problem the Mets will have to deal with, something that unfortunately just has to happen.
