YORK, Maine - The eighth-seeded York High School baseball team scored two runs in the sixth inning and rallied past No. 9 Wells, 5-4 on Tuesday, June 9 in a Class B South first-round game.
York will visit No. 1 Fryeburg Academy on Thursday, June 11 in a Class B South quarterfinal.

In the sixth, York's Dom Grover tripled and scored on Sam Jancovic's RBI single. Jancovic then advanced to third on a wild pitch and a fielder's choice, and scored on sophomore Alex Dimino’s infield single.
Senior Robbie Hanscom allowed four runs over seven innings, striking out five and earning the win.
Wells jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning to take an early lead. The Wildcats answered with one run in their first at-bat as Hanscom singled, stole second and scored on a Henry Ober RBI. Both teams scored in the third with Wells getting one, and York two on Orrin Culp Dechant's two-run single, cutting the Wells lead to 4-3.

GORHAM, Maine - The Hawks could only watch as Scarborough rallied for two runs in the seventh inning and walked off with this Class A South first-round win at Ed Flaherty Field.
"We can only use this season and this last game as fuel for next season." Marshwood first-year head coach Nick Mirabello said.
Marshwood junior Michael Sbrizza struck out seven over 6.2 innings, scattering nine hits and allowing three earned runs.
"(Sbrizza) pitched his heart out," Mirabello said.
Scarborough took a 1-0 lead in the fifth, but Marshood's Jack Eardley and Sam Gennaro both had RBI singles in the seventh, giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead.
Marshwood freshman Dominic Galuppo had two hits.

FALMOUTH, Maine - Maddy Poitras had seven goals, but Marshwood (6-9) was eliminated in this Class A first-round game.
Tiegan Boisvert added two goals and one assist for the Hawks, while Jolie Folger (two goals), Ella Yokota (goal, assist), and Maeve Long (two assists) all figured in the scoring. Marshwood goalie Leigh Twohig had eight saves.
