DURHAM - Portsmouth High School sophomore Leaina Cory set school records in both the 100 and 400 at the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, May 16.

Cory broke a 40-year record in the 100 meters with a time of 12.3 seconds, and broke her own record in the 400 with a time of 57.83.

Cory placed second in the 100 to Bedford's Alaina Beck (12.24), and placed second in the 400 to Bedford's Mikita Barry (57.34).

Portsmouth's 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Joey Hofstra, Ella Carter, Alexa, Barry, Amos and Cory, won in a time of 4:17.23.

In the boys race, Portsmouth sophomore Nicky Beidleman won the 800 (2:04.11), Brendan Kumph tied for first in the high jump (5 feet, 11 inches) and Steven Whistler won the pole vault by (11-7).

EXETER - Ray Plante allowed two hits and struck out eight over four innings as Exeter improved to 10-5 with this Division I win.

Cam Crombie led the Blue Hawks with two hits and three RBIs, and Andrew Martin had two hits and scored two runs. John Bakker (two hits, RBI), Brennan Schmiloer (hit, RBI), Nick Costa (hit, run) and Anders Garvey (hit, run) all contributed.

Spaulding 4


CONCORD - Parker Wheeler had two hits, drove in two, and scored two runs for Spaulding (7-7) in this Division I loss.

Alex Locke and Brayden Comeau both had RBI singles for the Red Raiders, who lost their fourth straight game.

Marshwood 1


GORHAM, Maine - Sam Gennaro drove home Gavin Villineau in the seventh inning for the lone Marshwood run in this Class A South contest.

Gennaro had two hits for the Hawks, while Villineau, John Galuppo, Dom Galuppo and Michael Sbrizza all had one.

BOYS LACROSSE​

DERRY - Trevor Sifferlen had four goals for Division II Portsmouth in its loss at Division I Pinkerton.

Max Denneen added two goals for the Clippers, and Cortland Barr and Sam Biddle both had one.

Marshwood 18

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Rogan Boisvert, Robert Williams and Drake Concord all scored four goals for Marshwood (7-1) in this Class B game.

Hayden Demeroto and Asher Watts both scored two goals for the Hawks, and Chad Anderson both had one. Boisvert had three assists in the win, Drake Anderson, Chad Anderson had two, and Demeroto had one.

GORHAM, Maine - Maddy Poitras had five goals, Ella Yakota had two and Jolie Folger one for Marshwood (4-4) in its Class A game.

Marshwood goalie Leigh Twohig had 10 saves.

BOYS TENNIS​

LEBANON - Jiles Tracz (No. 1, 8-2), Amitay Hay Tene (No. 2, 8-2), Hillel Hay Tene (No. 3, 8-4), Caelan French (No. 4, 8-5), Julian Brousseau (No. 5, 8-0) and Brandon Ganev (No. 6, 8-0) all won in singles for Portsmouth.

In doubles, Hillel Hay Tene and Ganev won 8-1 at No. 1, and Julian Brosseau and Caelan French won 8-0 at No. 3.
