The final road to the NCAA Tournament starts now for LSU baseball in Hoover, Alabama this week.

Jay Johnson and his Tigers (29-27) have played their way out of an at-large bid for a regional after struggling for majority of the 2026 regular season. Now their only paht to get in is the go on a run at the SEC Baseball Tournament to the championship to secure the SEC's automatic berth into the field.

No. 14-seed LSU opens up conference tournament play against No. 11 Oklahoma (32-20) in the opening round Friday night at the Hoover Met.

LSU AT SEC TOURNAMENT What seed will LSU baseball be in SEC Tournament?

Earlier this season, the Tigers lost the series to the Sooners at home. LSU won the first game of the three-game set, but managed to only score five runs over the next two games to lose the series.

Sophomore William Schmidt will start on the mound for the Tigers. Against Oklahoma back in March, the right-hander struck out seven batters while giving up one run on six hits in four innings.
