After two long days of baseball at the SEC Tournament, the Auburn Tigers are finally ready to take the field at the Hoover Met.
Auburn baseball earned the No. 6 seed of the SEC Baseball Tournament at the Hoover Met, which automatically propelled them to the second round of the tournament for a date with the LSU Tigers, a team they did not face in the regular season. LSU, the No. 14 seed of the SEC Tournament, earned its way to the second round with a 6-2 win over Oklahoma in round one late Tuesday night. Derek Curiel logged three hits for the LSU Tigers while relief pitchers Gavin Guidry and Deven Sheerin combined to strike out 12 Sooners.
Auburn will trot out Jake Marciano in game one on the mound. Marciano and his third-lowest ERA in the SEC (2.74) will battle LSU's lineup that features six batters hitting over .300 and three players with double-digit home run totals, including Cade Arrambide's 18.
