Another LSU baseball signee heard his name called during the 2026 MLB Draft. The Miami Marlins selected Wessley Roberson in the fourth round at No. 115 overall on Saturday. The outfielder is the third of four members of the 2026 signing class to be drafted.

Roberson's selection follows Logan Schmidt, No. 59 overall to the Cleveland Guardians, and Jensen Hirschkorn, No. 84 overall to the Atlanta Braves. All three signed with LSU ahead of the draft, but may never don the purple and gold should they decide to turn pro, as they were picked on Saturday.

Roberson is the No. 175 player in the ESPN prospect ranking, but isn't a top-250 prospect according to the MLB. The pick by the Marlins likely came as a surprise to scouts, as he severely overperformed their projections. The assigned slot value of the pick is worth $677,500.

As part of the 2026 signing class, Roberson is a stellar hitting prospect and one of the best contact hitters in the group. The lefty hails from Brunswick, GA and attended Glynn Academy.
