Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers won't be enjoying one of the final stages of this women's college basketball season. The longtime coach watched as her team was upset by the Duke Blue Devils 87-85 on Friday night.

Duke's Ashlon Jackson hit a game-winning shot over LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson as time expired. While the back-and-forth game was thrilling, this wasn't the outcome many expected. So what's next for Mulkey and his future in Baton Rouge?

As LSU spends a record amount of money across the board by bringing back Will Wade, securing a football roster and paying Lane Kiffin over the next seven years, Mulkey's team goes into the offseason with many questions. One of those is her status. She was asked about it by reporters following the heartbreaking loss.

There have been rumors about if she'll be retiring from coaching. But don't worry, Mulkey seems to be sticking around for now.

Kim Mulkey asked about the retirement fake news post going around social media today from @TigerTylerD

She's probably right, we should do more to shout out the dumb posts, bc unfortunately people do fall for them all the time.

“I’m not retiring," Mulkey said. " Do I look that bad? I don’t know where that came from. I’m only 63. And I’m healthy, with a few stents in my heart. My doctor says I’m good to go"

She went on to say, "As we get older, as coaches, they want to say, ‘How much longer is she going to be in the game?’ I’m going to be in this game unless LSU fires me, OK, until I can’t put a product on that floor that’s competitive, or my health fails me.”

Mulkey has been one of the most successful coaches in women's college basketball outside UConn's Geno Auriemma. She's made the NCAA Tournament every year over the past two decades and has done great at LSU.

This might seem like a setback, but you can't win them all and Mulkey knows it.
