The Los Angeles Dodgers don’t need to do anything more than they’ve already done, but we could’ve said that a year or two ago.

Shockingly, Zachary Rotman of FanSided considered a blockbuster deal that would send both Joe Ryan and Byron Buxton to Los Angeles in exchange for a large package of young talent. Despite the Dodgers seemingly being set in both areas, the thought of adding two studs is never a bad idea.

Dodgers receive: Ryan, Buxton

Twins receive: Andy Pages, Josue De Paula, Emmet Sheehan, River Ryan, Gavin Stone, Dalton Rushing, Alex Freeland

“Why the Dodgers would accept this trade is quite simple: they'd be getting much better. Joe Ryan is quickly establishing himself as one of the better starting pitchers in the American League, and Byron Buxton, when healthy, is an elite center fielder. They are clear upgrades in their rotation and outfield, respectively. Sure, they'd be losing valuable rotation depth by parting with guys like Emmet Sheehan, River Ryan and Gavin Stone, but look at their rotation with Ryan,” he wrote.

Ryan has become one of the best starters in the American League, while Buxton is a superstar who can do it all when healthy.

Ryan could slot directly into the rotation, one that’s dealt with injuries, while Buxton would provide Gold Glove-level defense in center field and another elite bat in the lineup.

Despite the intrigue, this would be a ton to give up.
