Come on now you can't predict injuries. No team in the NFL is going to survive playing its 3rd string QB
Its a total what if question... clearly can't go back now... just saying what if we had him now instead

We don't win 11 games without Bucannon. He has filled in major chunks in our defense from time to time.
And first round money is good: Jim Druckenmiller, Tommy Maddox and Rich CampbellI agree, sitting on the bench for a few years makes for a wasted pick,
Yours truly,
Aaron Rodgers
Not sure how familiar you are with PSU football however being close to it here in Pa and watching most of their games this past season you could see the regression with Hackenburg from the previous year under O'Brian. If you get a chance watch the Pinstripe bowl, PSU is in it against Mitch's Boston College.
Jax friend was over for dinner Sunday night and we were talking QB's. He said about the best coming down the line is Hackenberg from PSU, which is a scary thought. Obviously some will develop and emerge but it's not looking good.
Hackenberg had an exceptional freshman year under O'Brien; and looked worse than a mediocre college sophomore this year under Franklin. Franklin MIGHT be okay overall for PSU's future (and that is far from certain), but the change was horrible for Hackenberg. As a huge PSU fan, it was difficult to watch the regression and how frustrated Hackenberg was in the new offense.Quite frankly I think Franklin (no pun intended) the new head coach at PSU is going to ruin Hackenburg if Hackenburg doesn't get out of dodge. You can't insert a pro style in the pocket QB into a spread, pistol, offense that requires your QB to be just as much a runner as a passer which Hackenburg is not.
FWIW, Andy Dalton ran a ton of read option stuff at TCU, and I think that Nick Foles had at least a season with Rich Rod at Arizona. It's not ideal, but it's possible.
Hackenberg is nothing like either Dalton nor Foles. He has more similarity style-wise with Andrew Luck than either of the QB's mentioned here. But he does not have Luck's foot speed. Not sure how familiar you are with PSU football however being close to it here in Pa and watching most of their games this past season you could see the regression with Hackenburg from the previous year under O'Brian. Either Franklin needs to get an OC that can work with Hackenberg's strengths and a Pro-style offense, or; and I hate saying this; find a new starter, and let Hackenberg transfer. Because what we all saw this season with PSU, and the offense Franklin ran, will ruin the best pro QB prospect since Luck.Sad to say, you're 100 percent correct. I hate Franklin's offense. Dink and dunk passing just doesn't cut it at any level.
