WALLBURG – High Point Christian topped Northwest Guilford 10-0 in six innings Saturday in nonconference softball at Wallburg Baptist Church.
Kerri Langfitt had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs for the Cougars (5-1). Lila Allred also had three hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Hailey Allred had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Allie Winfree homered and drove in four.
Paisley Dixon got the pitching win, striking out six while allowing just two hits and two walks in five innings. Bella Dill pitched a one-hit sixth.
HIGH POINT CHRISTIAN, WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN
HIGH POINT – High Point Christian won 14-0 in five innings against rival Wesleyan Christian in PTAC softball Friday at Wesleyan's Sandy Ridge field.

Kyleigh Hedrick earned the complete-game pitching win, striking out one. Adalyn Boles took the loss, striking out three in two innings.

GIBSONVILLE – Southern Guilford won 19-5 in five innings against Eastern Guilford in TAAC Six 5A/6A softball Friday at Eastern Guilford.
Madison Goins tripled twice, homered twice, totaled five hits and drove in six runs to lead the Storm (6-1 overall, 3-0 conference). Madison Smith added four hits, including a double, and an RBI.
Cemiah Barringer had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs. Chloe Lyons also had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Lyla Parks chipped in a hit and four RBIs.

In the first game, Mikey Papciak, Walker Parsons and Brandon Loehr each had a hit and two RBIs. Blake Goff also doubled and drove in a run, while Jesse Covington drove in a run.
Elijah Martin struck out eight while allowing just one hit and one walk in earning the complete-game win.
In the second game, Loehr had two hits and three RBIs, while Martin had a hit and two RBIs. Jack Jordan had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Goff also had a hit and an RBI.
Travis Briggs earned the pitching win, striking out one while retiring all five batters he faced.
The Trojans improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

In the first game. Carson Everhart had three hits, including a double and a triple, and four RBIs. Carson Cromer had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs. Mason Crouse also had two hits, while Cam Sharpe, who tripled, and Addison Terry, who homered, each had four RBIs.
Sharpe struck out five and walked just one, as he and Tyson Harris combined to not allow a hit.
In the second game, Cam Coons had three hits and two RBIs, while Anderson Snyder had two hits and two RBIs. Connor Rinaldi had two hits and an RBI, while Mason Snow had a hit and two RBIs. Christian Tuttle had a hit and two RBIs for the Warriors (2-6 overall, 1-1 conference). Bentley Mills also had a hit, while Jackson Gallimore and Shannon McCauley each drove in a run.
Greyson Atkinson struck out four in earning the complete-game win. Travail Barnes took the loss, striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings.
Manny Serrano and Bryan Serrano-Rodriguez each had two hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs (5-4, 1-1). Elijah McNeair also had a hit.

BISHOP McGUINNESS, NORTH DAVIDSON
KERNERSVILLE – Bishop McGuinness won 6-3 against North Davison in Conference 13 boys lacrosse Friday at Bishop.
The Villains improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
In the girls game, Bishop won 20-5 to improve to 6-0 and 2-0. Emery Grunwald had four goals and four assists, while Ellie Brown had three goals and five assists. MK Suire scored five goals, while Stella Ropko had three goals and two assists.
Grace Gerber added four goals, while Morgan Aho had two assists. Maddie Edwards and Aveanna Woelfel each made three saves in goal.
HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY
MEN'S LACROSSE
Newark, Del. – High Point University beat Delaware 12-8 in Atlantic 10 Conference men's lacrosse Saturday at Delaware.
Ryan Hynes scored four goals and dished an assist for the Panthers (3-5 overall, 2-0 conference), who were tied 6-6 at halftime. Carson Robins added two goals and two assists, while Justin Wixted and Ian Cann each had a goal and two assists.
Zack Overend made 10 saves in goal.
BASEBALL
HIGH POINT – High Point University swept Presbyterian – winning 6-5 in 10 innings Friday, 8-5 on Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday – in Big South Conference baseball at Williard Stadium.
On Friday, Jace Kohler singled into the game-winning run to lift the Panthers. Jake McCarter had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs, while Lane Allen, who tripled, Seojun Oh, who doubled, and Frank Kelly, who also doubled, each had two hits and an RBI.
Tyler Shafer, a former Southwest Guilford standout, got the win in relief, striking out three in two innings.
On Saturday, Kohler had three hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Allen had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Landen Johnson, who doubled, and Oh each had two hits and an RBI. Willie Ponce also had two hits, while Kelly doubled and drove in two.

CCFC FALLS TO VIRGINIA DREAM
HIGH POINT – Carolina Core FC lost 2-1 against Virginia Dream on Thursday at Truist Point in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
After a scoreless first half, the Foxes led 1-0 on a goal from distance by Tim Zeegers in the 52nd minute strike. The visitors, however, responded quickly in the 58th minute and eventually found the winner in the 78th minute.
CCFC will return to MLS NEXT Pro action Sunday at the Chicago Fire II.
