I’m thinking we haven’t seen the last of Tune.
Tune comes back to run the scout team and lead the practice offense IMO.

If the team at some point need a starter I expect them to sign a veteran.

Wasn’t Benson supposed to be our speed running back?
Yes.
But different situations. To be a RB1 or RB2 in the nfl most teams require receiving ability, and more importantly ability to pick up the blitz in pass protection. Guys that spend their careers buried in the depth chart and on PS usually cannot pass block

Fehoko could not have done much better in pre- season- I thought he was pretty good.
Sounds like he should be back in the PS

This 53 man roster will obviously change in the next couple of days.

I wouldn't feel too comfortable if I'm Joey Blount, Xavier Thomas, Josh Fryar, Bam Knight. These guys are still on the bubble IMO.

I think Bam is safe because he's going to be the KR. I don't see anyone else there that can be KR.

Arizona Cardinals

Biggest move: After an impressive camp despite missing time with a leg injury, wide receiver Simi Fehoko was one of the most surprising cuts by the Cardinals. He was consistent during training camp and made plays during preseason games. Veteran running back DeeJay Dallas, who was a key component on Arizona's special teams last season, was cut after an up-and-down preseason. However, the most meaningful move might have been Arizona keeping first-round pick Walter Nolen III on the physically unable to perform list. It means Nolen can't return to practice for the first four weeks of the season, and once his 21-day window opens after Week 4, he could miss up to three more games. -- Josh Weinfuss

Waived/released: DL Kyon Barrs, LS Aaron Brewer, LB Elliott Brown, OL Jeremiah Byers, RB Michael Carter, OL Jake Curhan, RB DeeJay Dallas, TE Josiah Deguara, WR Simi Fehoko, DL Anthony Goodlow, WR Bryson Green, CB Darren Hall, OL Sincere Haynesworth, CB Jaylon Jones, OL Nick Leverett, OL Royce Newman, WR Tejhaun Palmer, S Jammie Robinson, DL Elijah Simmons, LB Mykal Walker, WR Andre Baccellia, CB Ekow Boye-Doe, TE Oscar Cardenas, OL McClendon Curtis, CB Steven Gilmore, DL Patrick Jenkins, LB Vi Jones, OL Roy Mbaeteka, WR Nate McCollum, QB Clayton Tune, OL Dohnovan West, LB Benton Whitley

Reserve/injured: OL Hayden Conner, OL Christian Jones, LB J.J. Russell. Conner and Jones have been designated to return.

Reserve/PUP: DL Bilal Nichols, DL Walter Nolen III, LB BJ Ojulari

I can't believe Pappoe isn't easily replaced.
Based on the Petzing offense I don't see a need for a 6th WR.
Agree, no need for a 6th WR, especially when you will have a high volume TE in the passing game. I expect an emphasis on the run game with a variety of looks with 2 TEs and possibly 3 in some instances.

Mustipher made it in the fact that he is stout in the run game (if you watched him in the preseason, he was hard to move off the line even with double teams) and those goal line stands the defense will face at times will be harder to crack when you have both Tomlinson and Mustipher inside to muck up inside runs.

What I don't get is using a spot for Vokolek, the 4th TE.

I guess it's because of the offensive scheme, or maybe he's good on ST? But I think I might have gone with another CB or LB.
I could see them going after Harrison Bryant, who the Texans let go. Petzing was his tight ends coach in Cleveland for two years, and he is a very solid player. Not flashy at all, but solid. If they replace Vokolek with Bryant, I would call their TE room very impressive.

There is some talk that the Texans mostly cut him for roster-management reasons, but will bring him back later. However, he is not subject to waivers, so that would be a dangerous game from them, especially since he has no connection - and probably no loyalty - to them after they just traded for him about a week ago.

Our TE room is already very impressive. McBride is fighting to be the #1 receiving TE in the league...Tip is close to being the #1 blocking TE in the league...and Tip can catch...rumor has it they are looking to work him into the passing game a bit more this season. meanwhile Higgins would get snaps with nearly any team in the league.
going three deep in the TE room is almost unheard of in the modern NFL.
If Tip starts getting targets...we could easily have the top TE room in the league by December
