Lamar Odom has checked into rehab to try to kick a marijuana habit.
The former NBA star, 46, was arrested for driving under the influence in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 17, and he is now in a 30-day treatment program at the iRely Recovery facility in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the ex Lakers player’s manager informed the publication that Odom is hoping his rehab stint will help to him ditch marijuana, as he worries it could lead to him doing hard drugs again.
Odom survived a near-fatal overdose in October 2015.
Following his arrest earlier this month, police reported an “overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle”, but Odom blamed it on his passenger, claiming he “doesn’t really smoke” and he denied drinking alcohol, per TMZ at the time.

However, when asked to step out of the vehicle he was quizzed once again if he had smoked pot that day, and he allegedly admitted he had “hours, hours earlier”.
After Odom checked into rehab this week, his manager told Us Weekly that he had done so to “reset and focus on his health”.
She said in a statement to the publication: “After a recent incident, he took a step back to reflect and address triggers he’s been dealing with.
“He’s taking full responsibility and choosing to be proactive about his wellbeing. Lamar is grateful for the support and is committed to moving forward in a healthy, positive way.”

As Globepreviously reported, earlier this month Odom was booked and charged with a DUI as well as two traffic violations: driving more than 41 miles per hour over the limit and improper lane change.
According to Us Weekly, Odom was granted bail and is due to appear in court on Tuesday, March 17.
On Tuesday, January 20, Odom told TMZ Sports: “I am learning from this experience and remain committed to my continued growth.
“I’ve worked hard to rebuild my life, and taking responsibility is an essential part of that process.”
